Medion CTV2118 service mode

    Is it really a Medion?
    I just know CTV2118 Roadstar or Telstar made by TCL china (chassis FS181CH--M17)
    In this case the servicemode is invoked this way:
    Press "display" on the remote and at the same time the Volume - on the frontpanel for about 7,8 sec.

    I´m shure it is a chinese brand...either konka (as Gabrijel suggested) or TCL.
    Vedran, which type of remote...is it original?.
    Give the most important ics or a pic of the board to idéntify the chassis.

    The remote has 3 hidden buttons. One is Display ( again), second one is woofer on-off ( TV does not have it ), the third one is nothing ( or it is !?)

    ok...now I´m rather sure its a TCL type ...somekind of Mxx chassis.

    do you have a "menu" knob on the remote ?
    which osd language do you have (some tcl servmode works only in english)

    english OSD (menu--> english)
    then press "menu" 4 times (menu system)
    then P- (timer menu)
    then Vol+ (timer sub)
    then Blue knob
    then ? knob


    if now the screen shows "Picture One" you´re right.
    with ? knob you can toggle to "picture two" etc. and change the settings...

    I have found a chinese chassis with VCT3831.
    Factory menu
    1. Press MENU button to display the main menu, then press RECALL button five
    times continuously to enter factory mode. Press 0 button, then RECALL button
    to exit factory mode.
    2. After entering factory mode:
    Press 1 button to adjust Horizontal：including H-BLANK（HBS0、HBST），
    H-POSITION（HPOS），H-SIZE（H-P0）、H TRAPEZIUM（H-P1）、H PINCUSION（H-P2），
    H S-CORRECTION（H-P3）、H E-W CORNER CORRECTION（H-P4）。
    Press 2 button to adjust Vertical：including V PHASE（OFS）、HEIGHT（V-P1）、
    V SYMMETRY（V-P2）、V LINEARITY（V-P3），Angle、Bow adjustment are also Vertical
    adjustment.
    Angle adjustment: no upper adjustment, just switch the lower right and left
    to adjust.
    Bow adjustment: no upper adjustment, just switch the lower right and left
    to adjust.
    Press 3 button：Select some functions
    Press 4 button：Check DRIVE REF.
    Press 5 button：Enter into G2 mode.(This mode is for grid test)
    Press 6 button：Check CUTOFF.
    Press 7 button：Select some functions
    Press 8 button： Brightness/ Contrast/Color parameters setting.

    Press 9 button：Memory data.
    3．Press PROG.△/PROG.▽ to select test item, and VOL+/- button to adjust the
    value, then press RECALL button to confirm and store

    then goes out, also, do not have ? knob

    its so difficult b´cause we dont know the Xakt TLC chassis and even subtypes like M35 and M35b have completelly different ways to invoke the servmode.


    do you have a "recall" knob ?


    edit: pardon... i meant...do you have a "reveal" and a "caps" knob
