djvu -> pdf

  • Hi Robert,

    habe im Internet folgendes gefunden:

    The JRAPublish application can batch-convert DjVu to PDF, but unfortunately it is not released because LizardTech licensing terms are too prohibitive and restrictive.
    This is the only software application supporting batch DjVu to PDF conversion.
    You best available method may be to open each DjVu file in the DjVu plugin, then print to PDF using Acrobat Distiller. This will create the pages in PDF, but will not transfer any OCRed text. In Acrobat, you can re-OCR if you wish.
    Another method is to extract the page images from DjVu and then use them to create PDF.
    JRAPublish can extract images in TIFF, JPEG, etc. But again it is not available.
    The DjVu plugin will let you extract images to BMP, which you can then convert in an image editor to TIFF or JPEG (to reduce image size). You can then use Adobe Acrobat to import the images and save as PDF.
    You can also use DjVu Editor Pro 4.0 to extract images and save them in TIFF or JPEG formats. You can get this application from the LizardTech website as a trial download. When you install, say "no" to installing the Cartridge Manager, and this will then install a non-expiring DjVu Editor Pro 4.0 on your PC.
    One benefit of using Acrobat Distiller for the conversion is that you can control the resulting page sizes in the Acrobat Distiller compression options. Another benefit is that all the pages of the DjVu will be transferred to PDF in one step.

    Gruß

    Erwin
